Overview
The Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS) was established by the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin in close collaboration with partner institutes from Ukraine, Europe, and the United States. This initiative aims to support Ukrainian scholars in the process of founding a permanent Institute for Advanced Study in Kyiv.
Although full-scale institutional activities in Ukraine will commence after the end of the war, the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study began its work in September 2023, hosting its first interdisciplinary cohort of fellows.
The Institute provides a platform for Ukrainian scholars to conduct advanced research, engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, and connect with international academic networks. Activities include virtual colloquia, hybrid events, access to academic resources, and assistance with publication and translation.
