Overview
The Wilson Center Fellowship Program 2026 stands as one of the world’s most distinguished opportunities for scholars and practitioners working at the intersection of research and public policy. Hosted by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars—established by the U.S. Congress as a living memorial to President Woodrow Wilson—the Center aims to bridge the worlds of ideas and government. Each year, the Center welcomes fellows who pursue independent, nonpartisan, and policy-relevant projects that address pressing global challenges.
Fellows selected for the Wilson Center Fellowship Program 2026 will spend twelve months conducting original research, engaging with policymakers, participating in high-level discussions, and contributing to global public policy debates. Although the fellowship is primarily remote, participants will travel to Washington, D.C. at the start and end of the program to engage with the Center’s community and broader policy network.
The fellowship supports projects aligned with the Center’s four pillars of scholarship: strategic competition, economic statecraft, technology and innovation, and regional scholarship. Fellows will also produce written analyses, policy briefs, op-eds, and other outputs that translate scholarly research into policy-relevant insights. Throughout the fellowship year, participants gain access to premier research resources—including the Library of Congress, university libraries, digital databases, and other regional collections.
With a generous stipend of $10,000 per month, structured engagement with policymakers, and unparalleled intellectual support, the Wilson Center Fellowship Program 2026 provides an exceptional environment for advancing impactful research and strengthening global policy dialogue.
