Overview

The Safe Haven Fellowship 2026 is designed to support intellectuals and creatives whose academic freedom, safety, or ability to continue their work is limited by conflict or repression. Eligibility

  • Education / Experience:
    • Scholars: PhD with at least three years of postdoctoral research experience at application time.
    • Journalists, Writers, Artists: No PhD required; a strong professional portfolio is acceptable.
  • English Language: Excellent command of English required for research, seminars, and community participation.
  • Presence: Fellows should be in Amsterdam at least 4 days a week throughout the fellowship.
  • Restrictions: Applicants from institutions boycotted by the Dutch government are not eligible.
