Overview

The CivicHive CivicTech Fellowship 2026 is a comprehensive bootcamp and incubation programme crafted to empower early-stage civic innovators whose ideas leverage technology to solve pressing social problems — including governance, transparency, public service delivery, climate resilience, justice, and advocacy.

Over the 20-week period, selected fellows gain practical support from experienced mentors, refine their product and strategy, build stronger legal and operational foundations, and prepare their solutions for launch and early scaling. Participants also join a vibrant regional civic tech ecosystem, connect with peers, and receive exposure through a fully funded trip to the West Africa Civic Tech Conference 2026.

The CivicHive CivicTech Fellowship 2026 embraces diverse forms of civic innovation — including AI for good, low-cost climate tech solutions, civic engagement platforms, and tools that strengthen accountability, participation, and democratic processes.

In addition, the fellowship places strong emphasis on user-centred design, ethical technology use, and measurable civic outcomes. Fellows are guided to test their ideas with real communities, gather feedback, and iterate rapidly. This hands-on approach ensures that supported solutions are not only innovative but also inclusive, practical, and responsive to real civic needs across the region.
