Overview

The Feminist Participatory Action Research 2026-2027 (WITCH) programme by APWLD is designed to support feminist organisations in documenting and analysing how trade policies, corporate power, extractivism, and economic structures impact women’s rights, livelihoods, and communities across the Asia Pacific. Selected participants will engage in research, capacity building, community documentation, advocacy, and movement-building activities.

Participants will contribute evidence and feminist analysis to inform policy discussions, challenge existing corporate and trade frameworks, and strengthen feminist research practices grounded in lived experiences. The programme fosters collaboration, regional networking, and strategic learning among grassroots women’s organisations.

In addition, the Feminist Participatory Action Research 2026–2027 strongly emphasizes collective learning, feminist political education, and movement strengthening across the Asia-Pacific region. Participating organisations will not only conduct research but also take part in structured feminist reflection processes, peer-to-peer exchanges, and regional learning spaces facilitated by APWLD. The programme encourages organisations to link local community realities with wider regional and global economic systems, particularly in relation to trade policies, corporate power, extractivism, and development models.

Through feminist methodologies, storytelling, and community-based documentation, participants will be supported to transform research findings into strategic advocacy tools. These outputs can be used to influence policy debates, support grassroots mobilisation, and challenge dominant economic narratives. The WITCH programme also prioritises long-term capacity building by strengthening organisations’ feminist research skills beyond the programme period. Overall, this initiative aims to foster a more connected, resilient, and informed feminist movement capable of advancing economic justice and systemic change for women and marginalised communities.
