Overview

The National FLTP 2026 programme aims to expand feminist legal knowledge and strengthen advocacy strategies addressing gender inequality and discriminatory laws in the Asia-Pacific region.

Organized by the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), the Feminist Legal Theory and Practice (FLTP) programme has become a powerful platform for activists, lawyers, and organizations working to advance women’s rights.

Through National FLTP 2026, APWLD will partner with selected organizations to conduct national-level training programmes designed to build capacity in feminist legal analysis and advocacy. The programme focuses on strengthening the ability of organizations and movements to examine national legal frameworks from feminist and human rights perspectives.

Selected partners will receive sub-grant funding between USD $8,000 and $10,000 to host national FLTP training programmes. These trainings will focus on empowering participants to identify discriminatory laws, develop feminist legal strategies, and lead campaigns promoting women’s human rights.

Participants and partner organizations will also contribute to building a regional community of feminist legal practitioners. By sharing insights and strategies across countries, the programme seeks to strengthen collaboration and collective advocacy for gender justice.

National FLTP partners will organize training programmes between April and October 2026, followed by a collaborative evaluation and knowledge-sharing process in November 2026.

Beyond the training phase, the National FLTP 2026 initiative also provides opportunities for further action through follow-up sub-grants supporting feminist legal initiatives, research, advocacy campaigns, and coalition-building efforts.
