Overview
Asia Pacific Heritage Workshop 2026 focuses on “Tangible–Intangible Synergies in World Heritage Management.” The program responds to the growing need for integrated, people-centred heritage conservation approaches.
More than 50 years after the 1972 World Heritage Convention, heritage management increasingly recognises that physical monuments, cultural landscapes, living traditions, community practices, and intangible heritage are deeply connected.
The Asia-Pacific region has many heritage sites where tangible and intangible elements exist together. This makes the workshop especially relevant for professionals who want to improve management strategies, strengthen community participation, and design sustainable heritage practices.
The workshop will be held in Anxi, China, a location known for important heritage resources, including links to Quanzhou World Heritage, traditional tea processing practices, and the Anxi Tieguanyin Tea Cultural System.
Participants will join expert lectures, field studies, presentations, and collaborative group projects. The Asia Pacific Heritage Workshop 2026 aims to help participants move from theory to practical heritage management solutions.
