Overview
The Young Peacebuilders Programme 2026 is a flagship youth initiative developed by UNAOC to strengthen the role of young people in building peaceful, inclusive, and resilient societies.
The programme seeks to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to address social polarization, challenge stereotypes, and promote intercultural understanding within their communities.
The initiative is implemented under the Peace4Culture Global Call, a partnership launched in 2022 by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and UNAOC. The initiative promotes cultural diversity and highlights the importance of sustainable peace in addressing contemporary global challenges.
Since its launch, the programme has empowered more than 155 young leaders from 58 countries, creating a global network dedicated to peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue.
Young Peacebuilders Programme 2026 Learning Journey
Selected participants will participate in a comprehensive learning experience consisting of several interconnected phases.
Online Learning Phase
Participants will complete interactive online educational modules guided by experienced facilitators. These sessions will provide foundational knowledge in peacebuilding, dialogue facilitation, conflict prevention, and community engagement.
Intensive In-Person Workshop
Following the online phase, participants will attend a one-week international workshop where they will engage in practical exercises, collaborative learning activities, and networking opportunities with peers from across the region.
Community Peace Projects
Participants will design and implement local peacebuilding initiatives within their communities. These projects allow young leaders to apply their newly acquired skills and create tangible social impact.
Results-Sharing Symposium
The programme concludes with a symposium where participants present their projects, lessons learned, and recommendations to policymakers, practitioners, civil society representatives, media professionals, and international organizations.
Eligibility
Applicants for the Young Peacebuilders Programme 2026 should generally meet the following criteria:

- Reside in a country within the South Caucasus or Central Asia region.
