Overview
The Peer Led TB Support Workshop 2026 is designed to strengthen peer-based approaches in tuberculosis (TB) care across the WHO European Region.
Peer-led support refers to guidance and assistance provided by trained TB survivors or individuals with lived experience. This model strengthens treatment adherence, improves wellbeing, and helps people affected by TB navigate complex healthcare systems.
Across the WHO European Region, countries are at different stages of implementing peer-led TB support. Some have established survivor-led systems, while others are just beginning to explore how peer engagement can be integrated into national TB responses.
This workshop will:
- Facilitate experience exchange between countries
- Address practical and system-level challenges
- Strengthen collaboration between National TB Programmes (NTPs), civil society organisations, and survivor groups
- Co-develop a draft framework for a cross-border digital peer support network
