The Child Rights Regional Officer 2026 will coordinate, facilitate, and expand child rights and youth engagement initiatives across Central Asia. Working closely with the Global Campus Headquarters in Venice and the MAHRS Academic Director in Bishkek, the Officer will help integrate child rights into academic programming, youth leadership initiatives, project development, and regional outreach.

The Master’s in Human Rights and Sustainability (MAHRS) is a competitive two-year interdisciplinary graduate programme hosted at the OSCE Academy. It combines:

Duties & Responsibilities
The role of Child Rights Regional Officer 2026 includes three main functional areas:
1. Programme Support & Development
- Ensure child rights integration into MAHRS curriculum and extracurricular activities
- Promote child participation and meaningful youth engagement
- Draft project proposals and manage project budgets
- Lead implementation of regional child rights activities
- Travel across Central Asia and abroad for meetings, events, and coordination
2. Coordination & Management
- Work closely with the Child Rights Project Manager (Venice HQ)
- Manage and expand child rights projects in Central Asia
- Coordinate the Child Leadership Team (CLT)
- Develop new training modules, workshops, and outreach initiatives
- Organize regional and international child rights events
3. Partnerships & Safeguarding
- Strengthen partnerships with UNICEF, NGOs, universities, and local stakeholders
- Maintain and review regional child protection and safeguarding policies
- Conduct mapping of regional actors and experts
- Report regularly to Venice HQ and MAHRS Academic Director in Bishkek
Required & Desirable Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- MA degree (Education, Social Sciences, Law, or related field)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in child rights, youth development, or related areas
- Experience with project & budget management
- Fluency in English and Russian
- International experience preferred
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Kazakh, or Tajik
- Experience in academic, multistakeholder, or international environments
- Strong facilitation & communication skills
- Experience working with children and youth in diverse settings
