Overview

The Green Skills Award 2026 celebrates impactful initiatives that equip people with the skills needed for the green transition. Following a highly inspiring 2025 edition, the European Training Foundation now seeks the next generation of changemakers transforming classrooms, workplaces, communities, and digital spaces.

Each year, the award uncovers powerful stories: schools embedding sustainability into education, VET providers modernising training for green jobs, NGOs supporting vulnerable workers, employers reshaping job roles, and creators making climate knowledge accessible to all. While many of these initiatives are transformative, their impact often remains local.

The Green Skills Award 2026 changes that by offering a global platform. Finalists and winners receive international recognition across ETF, European Commission, and EEAS channels, professional storytelling films, promotion during major EU events such as EU Green Week, and valuable networking opportunities with policymakers and peers.

For 2026, the new #ForOurPlanet Prize will spotlight exceptional initiatives dedicated to nature restoration and environmental preservation, reinforcing the award’s commitment to a sustainable and resource-efficient future.
