Overview
The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship 2027 is one of Africa’s most prestigious leadership scholarships. It aims to develop exceptional young African leaders by combining academic study at a South African institution with an intensive leadership programme.
The Mandela Rhodes Foundation was established in 2003 to build leadership capacity across Africa and promote the values championed by Nelson Mandela. The scholarship provides not only financial assistance but also mentorship, workshops, and leadership training.
Scholars participate in residential leadership workshops, mentoring sessions, and community engagement projects during their studies. These activities are designed to help scholars build strong networks, develop leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s development.
The programme emphasizes four core principles:
- Leadership
- Education
- Entrepreneurship
- Reconciliation
The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship 2027 therefore goes beyond academic support by nurturing ethical leadership and long-term impact across the African continent.
Students accepted into the program pursue postgraduate degrees at recognized universities in South Africa while participating in the leadership development program organized by the Mandela Rhodes Foundation.
