Overview
The Media Art Grants 2026 are designed to support the production of new, original media art projects across a wide spectrum of contemporary practices. Eligible formats include video art, net-based projects, sound works, and complex audiovisual installations. The program is internationally oriented and welcomes applications from artists worldwide.
Each of the three Media Art Grants 2026 is awarded for the creation of a new project to be developed during a structured six-month grant period. An international jury of experts will evaluate applications and select the recipients based on artistic quality, feasibility, and innovation.
Grant recipients are required to complete their projects within the grant period, although an extension until April 2027 may be negotiated in justified cases. A mandatory residency applies, with artists expected to stay in Oldenburg for at least one month (which may be divided into multiple stays)
